The European Commission has approved €380 million for 168 new green projects across Europe. This is a 27% increase on last year's funding and will mobilise a total investment of over €562 million.
67 projects devoted to improving market and regulatory conditions in the EU for the clean energy transition are included, with a budget of over €100 million. Six projects will be dedicated to boosting energy communities at local and regional levels.
Other clean energy projects will include facilitating energy renovation for thousands of homeowners in vulnerable districts across five EU countries and tailor-made renovation roadmaps in southern and eastern Europe.
Funding will also be mobilised for projects supporting nature and biodiversity, circular economy and quality of life, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
