Rural Energy Community Advisory Hub

All over Europe citizens, local authorities, small and medium businesses and other non-profit associations are uniting to form energy communities that provide environmental, economic, and social benefits.

Local sustainability projects are reducing carbon emissions and fuel poverty, generating local jobs and driving energy independence.

There is now a significant role allocated to energy communities to contribute to reach our increased renewable energy targets and become independent from gas, oil and coal imports. Rural areas hold great potential due to the space available to develop renewable energy projects.
